On Saturday, the Washington Nationals acquired former Diamondbacks’ pitcher Zach Davies. While it’s a minor league deal, it does come with an invite to MLB camp, as reported by Jon Heyman.
Davies, who hails from Arizona and attended Mesquite High School, was released by the Diamondbacks towards the end of last season.
Prior to his release, Davies endured a challenging season, posting a historically high 7.00 ERA along with a WHIP of 1.664, marking career highs.
In his final four starts of the season, he allowed 15 earned runs in 14 innings. Remarkably, the Diamondbacks emerged victorious in each of these games.
