Paul Goldschmidt is going to be fine. His career numbers tell you to expect him to hit .300 with 100 RBIs and 30 homers.
Everybody’s fretting, of course, because he’s nowhere near that pace. Entering Tuesday, he was hitting .225 and is on track for about 50 RBIs and 18 home runs.
Over the past week or so, it’s even worse. He’s hitting .040 with no RBIs or dingers in his last 25 at-bats.
So what?
“It’s just part of the game,” Goldschmidt said. “Luckily, we’ve been doing good. It’s not about me. I just go out there and try to help us win.
