September call-ups resulted in a slight reshuffling of rosters for the final game of the season. Jorge Barrosa and Slade Cecconi were summoned to Phoenix. Jake Rice and Andy Weber made the trek from Amarillo to Albuquerque to join the Aces. And Gino Groover had the longest trip, from Hillsboro down to Amarillo.
The year started in rough fashion for Groover. He committed two errors in his first game of the season, but was hitting well. In fact, he had three hits in Vancouver on April 9th before a disastrous eighth inning. Jace Bohrofen hit a ground ball back to the pitcher, and the throw to first took Groover (making what would turn out to be his only start at the position for Hillsboro) into the path of the runner.
