PHOENIX -- Kris Medlen did not have a warm welcome back to the big leagues. Making his first Major League start since 2016, he gave up seven runs on nine hits over four innings Friday at Chase Field as the D-backs fell to the Astros, 8-0, marking their third consecutive loss.
Medlen, a righty who held a 6.00 ERA in four starts for Triple-A Reno before being called up, never settled in against a lethal Astros lineup.
George Springer smacked the second pitch of the game for a single and came home on a Jose Altuve double.
