Washington Nationals right-hander Max Scherzer mowed through the Diamondbacks lineup on Monday night, the latest reminder of what could have been.
In town just a couple of days after Justin Upton launched his second game-winning homer this season against his old team, Scherzer was solid in seven innings in his first start back at Chase Field since the Diamondbacks dealt him away after the 2009 season.
There is no way around this: That was a trade the Diamondbacks would like to have back.
It wasn't a total face-palm sort of deal — they landed right-handers Ian Kennedy and Edwin Jackson, who later was flipped to the Chicago White Sox for right-hander Daniel Hudson.
