Marshall hit in head by liner while pitching at Reno

Marshall was later taken to the hospital, and a D-backs spokesperson said that as of Wednesday afternoon he was still there. The D-backs' Triple-A trainer was with Marshall the whole time, and the organization is sending a member of the Major League medical staff to check on him as well.

That was all the organization could say at this point due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

"It's scary to be a player and see something like that happen," said pitcher Allen Webster, who was in uniform for the Aces when Marshall was hit and then was promoted to the big leagues following the game.
