Mark Grace, a longtime fixture in the Diamondbacks organization, was told he would not be returning to his position as assistant hitting coach, a source said Monday.
Grace helped the club win the World Series in 2001 as a player, served as a broadcaster for 8 1/2 years after retiring and spent the past four years with the organization as a coach.
He was given an opportunity to coach after a pair of DUI arrests in a 15-man span beginning in 2011 cost him his position in the broadcast booth.

Grace is the first coach from previous manager Chip Hale’s staff to be told he would not be returning under new manager Torey Lovullo.
