The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors was poised to take action this week in response to the Arizona Diamondbacks' lawsuit that claims Chase Field could become unsafe if the county doesn't fund millions of dollars in repairs.
But after spending Monday morning behind closed doors with hired lawyers, the county board delayed action and canceled a public meeting that had been set in case members decided to vote.
County spokesman Fields Moseley said the board needed more time to consider its options. Board Chairman Denny Barney has floated the idea of the county asking a Maricopa County Superior Court judge to send the case to arbitration.
