SAN DIEGO – Chief Baseball Officer Tony La Russa said in a radio interview on Wednesday he can’t envision agreeing to stay with the Diamondbacks if the team’s ownership decided it wanted to replace General Manager Dave Stewart.
“I think there’s a matter of integrity, as far as personal integrity, and it’s hard for me to see agreeing to let somebody go that I don’t think should be let go,” La Russa said during his weekly appearance on the Doug & Wolf show on KMVP-FM (98.7). “… I just think that hopefully I’m not put in that position.
