Slugger Kevin Cron is leaving the Diamondbacks and heading to Japan, according to a source.
Cron, a prodigious power hitter in the minor leagues, played in the majors for parts of the past two seasons, turning in mixed results. He slammed six homers and logged a .521 slugging percentage in 2019, but he went hitless in 17 at-bats this past season.
The Diamondbacks are selling Cron’s rights to a club in Nippon Professional Baseball, Japan’s top league.
