Josh Rojas did not immediately get up after sliding into second base on Wednesday afternoon, an ominous sign for one of the Diamondbacks’ better position players. When he did, he held left hand awkwardly to the side as he jogged off the field.
The Diamondbacks extended their win streak to a season-high four games, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-4, at Chase Field, but it came with a dose of disappointing news on the injury front.
Rojas had a dislocated left pinky finger that was set back into place, manager Torey Lovullo said, adding that the Rojas was being sent for additional tests to determine the severity of the injury.
