NEW YORK – John Ryan Murphy’s continued productivity at the plate and the Diamondbacks’ general offensive malaise could lead to more at-bats for Murphy, manager Torey Lovullo intimated on Sunday morning.
“I’m taking notice of what he’s doing,” Lovullo said. “Is there going to be a change? Possibly. But I need to sit guys down and have conversations with them before any type of movement is made in that area. It’s just a thought I’m having right now.”
Murphy delivered a two-run homer and a run-scoring single in Saturday night’s 5-4 loss to the New York Mets.
