PHOENIX -- Arizona manager Torey Lovullo has been creative when it comes to getting the most out of his relief pitchers all season, and on Tuesday he made another move to stretch his bullpen.
The D-backs recalled right-handed pitcher Braden Shipley from Triple-A Reno, sending right-handed pitcher Silvino Bracho to Reno.
"We were a little thin down in the bullpen," Lovullo said. "So Braden is going to be operating out of the bullpen. And what that role is right now, we're not exactly sure, it might change day by day. For today, he's gonna give us a little length and help us get through a certain part of the game.
