SAN FRANCISCO – When the idea was first presented to him, Diamondbacks pitcher Daniel Hudson was skeptical: Someone wants to make him a main character in a book about arm injuries? What if he never makes it back from Tommy John surgery? Did he want his failure documented so publicly?
Ultimately, Hudson agreed to it, and despite some of his worst fears being borne out, he said he’s glad he did it. Author Jeff Passan followed Hudson through not one elbow surgery, but two, and his finished product – The Arm: Inside The Billion-Dollar Mystery of the Most Valuable Commodity in Sports – was released this month.
