After he tested positive for a banned substance more than a year ago, Diamondbacks infielder Domingo Leyba addressed his team. He told reporters on Monday that he did not believe he did anything wrong. But he felt he should say something anyway.
“I felt bad,” Leyba said, speaking through translator Alex Arpiza. “I did apologize. I didn’t want to put the club’s name in a bad position. So I definitely apologized to (manager) Torey (Lovullo) and my teammates and let them know what kind of person I am.”
Leyba tested positive for Boldenone, an anabolic steroid, but he said Monday the positive result caught him by “surprise.
