The Diamondbacks established a modern-era major league record on Thursday afternoon with their 23rd consecutive road loss.
In losing, 10-3, to the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park, the Diamondbacks moved past the 1943 Philadelphia Athletics and the 1963 New York Mets, each of whom had lost 22 in a row on the road, which had been the most since 1900.
The road losing streak spanned four road trips, all of them sweeps. It began on May 4 in Miami in a game the Diamondbacks lost by giving up six runs in the eighth inning. It continued with two more games in Miami followed by a sweep at Citi Field at the hands of the New York Mets.
