Hill, Pollock go deep in Diamondbacks' 2-1 win over Padres (The Associated Press)

PHOENIX (AP) -- Aaron Hill and A.J. Pollock homered to back five pitchers who carried the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 2-1 victory over the San Diego Padres on Sunday.

Hudson, making his first major league start since June 2012, was limited to 56 pitches in 3 1-3 scoreless innings. He's been used out of the bullpen since returning late last season from two Tommy John surgeries.

Hudson allowed two hits and left the bases loaded after striking out five and walking two. J.C. Ramirez, just called up from Triple-A Reno, escaped the jam unscathed.
