Hale: Greinke not suffering from flu

PHOENIX -- D-backs manager Chip Hale said he did not know of any condition that would have impacted Zack Greinke's efforts on the mound during Monday's Opening Night start.

Greinke allowed seven runs and lasted just four innings in his first regular-season start for the D-backs.

Tuesday, MLB Network's Ken Rosenthal reported that Greinke pitched the game with a case of the flu.

"He had had over the last week or so some upper respiratory issues like a lot of our guys have had this spring," Hale said. "Whether it's allergies or whatever it is, but he was checked out and he was fine.
