SAN DIEGO – Like everyone else with the Diamondbacks, Chip Hale would like to know what other changes, if any, will befall the organization at the end of the year. But he said focusing on baseball, at least when he’s at the ballpark, has been a good distraction from the uncertainty.
“I think when we’re here and we’re doing our jobs and engulfed in what we’re doing, it’s no problem,” Hale said. “But, yeah, when you’re off the field, you’re thinking about what’s going to happen. It’s natural.”
The Diamondbacks, who are finishing up one of the more disappointing seasons in franchise history, already have made one move, cutting ties with De Jon Watson, who served as the club’s senior vice president of baseball operations the past two seasons.
