Greinke wins 3rd consecutive Gold Glove Award

PHOENIX -- D-backs right-hander Zack Greinke captured his third straight National League Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Tuesday.

The award, which recognizes the best defensive players at their respective positions, was voted on by Major League Baseball managers and coaches.

Greinke is the sixth NL pitcher to win three NL Gold Gloves in a row, joining Harvey Haddix, Bobby Shantz, Bob Gibson, Phil Niekro and Greg Maddux.

The award caps an otherwise disappointing year for Greinke, who was signed last December to a six-year, $206.5 million free-agent deal. In 26 starts for the D-backs, Greinke was 13-7 with a 4.
