LOS ANGELES – Over the years in this ballpark, the Diamondbacks have made a habit of finding new and creative ways to lose games. But the trick they pulled in a 5-4 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday night tests the bounds of plausibility.
The Diamondbacks had a one-run lead with the bases empty, two outs and two strikes on the Dodgers’ Chris Taylor in the ninth inning. But they not only ended up walking Taylor, they then walked each of the next four batters, as well, forcing in the tying and winning runs in front of a jubilant and disbelieving crowd at Dodger Stadium.
