Godley's solid start not enough as D-backs fall

PHOENIX -- The D-backs fell, 2-1, to the Dodgers on Wednesday night at Chase Field. But they will still have a chance to win their 10th consecutive series to open the season in Thursday afternoon's series finale.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Daniel Descalso drew a pinch-hit, two-out walk against Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen. He then scored on a John Ryan Murphy RBI single that cut the deficit to one run. However, the D-backs couldn't complete the comeback, as Alex Avila flied out to left to end the game.
