SAN FRANCISCO -- The D-backs were decimated by a seven-run inning from the Giants in Monday night's 10-3 loss at AT&T Park to open the three-game series.
For the second time in three starts, right-hander Zack Godley only lasted 3 1/3 innings while getting knocked around by the opposition. Godley's teammates staked him to a two-run lead in the top of the fourth inning, but he could only retire one batter in the bottom of the inning while allowing seven Giants to reach base.
Andrew McCutchen and Brandon Crawford led off the fateful frame with a pair of line-drive solo shots to left field before Godley surrendered two more hits and two walks and hit a batter.
