Twins still in control vs. D-Backs
The Diamondbacks’ bats have made some noise, but the Twins have continued to tack on runs against right-hander Braden Shipley, and they have a commanding 12-4 lead after six innings on Sunday afternoon.
The Diamondbacks have received solo home runs from J.D. Martinez, Brandon Drury and Jake Lamb, and Adam Rosales lined an RBI double to right.
The sides traded purpose pitches in the sixth and seventh innings. With two out and the bases empty in the top of the sixth, Shipley drilled the Twins’ Chris Gimenez with a first-pitch fastball.
