Ty Kelly’s double to deep right-center field drove in a run, putting the Phillies ahead 4-3 against the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon.
Kelly’s double came off reliever J.J. Hoover, who entered after lefty Robbie Ray issued a walk and allowed a single with one out.
The hit initially appeared to drive in a pair of runs as Freddy Galvis followed Cameron Rupp home and was called safe on a play at the plate.
But the Diamondbacks challenged the call, getting it overturned, as it appeared Galvis never actually touched home on his slide.
For Ray, who was pitching in brutal heat and humidity, the outing goes down as his worst in weeks.
