A day after the Diamondbacks beat the Brewers 4-0, right-hander Zack Godley is five innings into another shutout performance.
He has allowed just four hits with no walks and five strikeouts, and his pitch count is a highly manageable 60 through five innings.
If the Diamondbacks are able to finish the shutout, it would be the 12th time in franchise history they’ve recorded back-to-back shutouts, and the second time they’ll have done so against the Brewers, whom they also blanked on July 25-26, 2015, in Arizona.
Jake Lamb’s homer gives D-Backs the lead
Jake Lamb’s solo home run gave his team its first hit of the night and drove home the first run of the game, and the Diamondbacks owned a 1-0 lead after four innings.
