The Arizona Diamondbacks fell to the Chicago Cubs on Thursday afternoon, 7-6, after leading the game 6-1 in the fifth inning.
David Bote hit a 2-run home run off Diamondbacks closer Brad Boxberger to tie the game at 6, and then the next batter, Anthony Rizzo, won the game for the Cubs with a solo shot to give Chicago a split of the four-game series.
Nick Ahmed had a grand slam in the fifth inning to give Arizona a 6-1 lead.
Catcher Alex Avila also homered for Arizona, who next plays the Padres in a three-game series in San Diego beginning Friday.
