On Sunday evening, the Diamondbacks e-mailed a notice that Paul Goldschmidt, now Arizona’s favorite St. Louis Cardinal, would be available to reporters in the visitor's dugout about three hours before Monday’s game against the Cardinals.
This gave interested media plenty of time to make sure they had new notebooks, fresh batteries in their recorders and the most reliable pens from their Marriott collections.
Just kidding.
No one covering a Goldschmidt news conference has ever had to worry about running out of paper, power or ink.
