Tyler Skaggs, who made his Major League Baseball debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012, died Monday at the age of 27, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced.
The Angels announced their game Monday against the Rangers in Arlington, Texas has been postponed. The circumstances of his death have not been released.
Skaggs appeared in 13 games for the Diamondbacks over the 2012 and 2013 seasons. He was traded to the Angels following the 2013 season.
He missed the 2015 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Skaggs was a first-round draft pick by the Angels coming out of high school in 2009.
