Rolando Nichols knew in his heart from age 10 that he would be in the major leagues one day, if not as a baseball player then as an announcer.
Nichols, 45, used to do play-by-play of his own games growing up in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, before coming to the United States to play baseball at Tucson's Amphitheater High School. These days he is living his dream in the broadcast booth for FOX Deportes, calling the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays.
It's Nichols' seventh World Series on the microphone. The 25-year veteran of broadcast journalism has called every Fall Classic in Spanish since 2016.
