Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt (32) throws a pitch against the Philadelphia Phillies during the sixth inning in game three of the NLCS of the 2023 MLB playoffs at Chase Field in Phoenix on Oct. 19, 2023.
With a 2-0 series deficit looming large and a red-hot Phillies offense on the other side, Diamondbacks rookie Brandon Pfaadt defied all odds with the greatest start of his young career.
Through 5.2 innings, Pfaadt allowed just two hits while also striking out nine batters, which was a personal record.
Not only did this start help propel the Diamondbacks into the win column, but it also gave him a place in the postseason history books.
