Ex-indy leaguers find success in D-Backs farm

As David Peralta continues to look like one of the best hitters in the major leagues, it looks more and more like the Diamondbacks may have pulled off one of the best scouting finds in recent history. Not so long ago Peralta was toiling in unaffiliated baseball leagues for two and a half seasons, and not so long before that he was a former minor-league pitcher whose career was cut short by a shoulder injury.

Now, entering Tuesday, he was hitting .306 with a .901 OPS, holding down the fourth spot in the lineup behind star Paul Goldschmidt.
