After pitching a scoreless first inning against the Cubs, Eduardo Rodriguez was removed from the game due to tightness in his left lat.

Rodriguez threw a few warm-up pitches before the second inning commenced but then promptly exited the field accompanied by a trainer.

In early December, the Diamondbacks secured Rodriguez with a four-year contract valued at $80 million.

During the 2023 season with the Tigers, he achieved a record of 13-9 and an ERA of 3.30.

The severity of his injury remains largely uncertain; further updates will be provided as they become available.
