Draft pick Touki Toussaint building on first pro ball

Touki Toussaint had never really been through a rough patch before. As a high school phenom with a fastball that touched 97 mph, a wicked curve and a plus change-up, opposing hitters were always several steps behind whatever he was doing on the mound.

That changed when he got to pro ball last year after the Diamondbacks selected him 16th overall in the June draft. Toussaint posted a 4.80 ERA in 15 innings in the Arizona League before being promoted to Rookie-Advanced Missoula, where he was knocked around for a 12.82 ERA in five starts.

"The game sped up," Toussaint said.
