In their first encounter since the NLDS, the Arizona Diamondbacks suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers, with the game ending in an 12-1 rout.
The Dodgers waited no time getting the bats rolling, scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st to set the tone early. Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, who had struggled in the NLDS going a combined 1-21 at the plate, turned their fortunes around by going 5-7.
The 1st inning kicked off with Betts securing a leadoff base hit. After Shohei Ohtani struck out, Freddie Freeman launched a home run to open the scoring.
