The road hasn't been very good to the Arizona Diamondbacks, with their modern baseball record 23rd consecutive away loss on Thursday in San Francisco.
Imagine, then, coming home to Chase Field, new uniforms in the players' and coaches' clubhouse stalls, only to take the diamond to a road-like atmosphere in their own ballpark.
Such was the scene Friday night with the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in town and most of the crowd of 25,356 cheering for the visiting team. And while the Diamondbacks and starting pitcher Caleb Smith kept the Dodgers off the scoreboard for seven innings, they dropped their 15th straight game, 3-0 to their division rivals.
