Before we go any further, let me get the obvious out of the way.
With that said... After last night’s win over the Royals, the Diamondbacks have a record of 23-22, and sit just one-half game behind the Giants for the last wild-card spot in the National League. It’s a remarkable turnaround, considering that in 2021, the team did not achieve their 23rd victory until the second-half of the schedule, on July 1, “improving” their record to 23-60. Put another way, Arizona would need to lose their next thirty-eight games in a row to match their record from last season.
