After leaving the desert confines of Chase FIeld with a disappointing 2-5 record for their 7 game homestand, the Diamondbacks took a trip over to the city by the bay for another NL West matchup, this time with the Bob Melvin lead San Francisco Giants, as they look to get back to their series winning ways and possibly even put more distance in between themselves and the remaining NL Wild Card teams.
Before the series got underway in Game 1, we got the good news that Christian Walker would be returning from his oblique injury, but sadly Lourdes Gurriel Jr would take his place on the10- Day IL with his strained left calf.
