The Arizona Diamondbacks evened up their two-game series against the Rangers on Wednesday with a 12-7 road victory.
While starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt struggled in his MLB debut, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits in 4.2 innings, the bullpen was close to perfect, eliminating any further threat.
José Ruiz, Miguel Castro, Joe Mantiply, and closer Andre Chafin provided 4.1 shutout innings in relief, striking out seven batters.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks jumped all over the Rangers’ bullpen, putting up five runs in the seventh inning. In an inning where the whole team saw an at-bat, it was close to a complete team effort to put the game away.
