Right-hander Taylor Widener is set to become the latest key Diamondbacks player to return to health on Sunday when he is expected to be reinstated from the injured list and start against the Rockies at Coors Field.
Widener hasn’t pitched in a month after suffering a groin injury while doing pregame running.
“Honestly, it’s kind of embarrassing,” Widener said. “I was on a light jog in the outfield and I kind of felt a little twinge in my groin. I was hoping it was a muscle spasm, so I went and tried the foam roll and do some stuff to make it go away.
