Diamondbacks take series vs. Pirates with Sunday victory

With an 8-3 Sunday afternoon victory over the first-place Pittsburgh Pirates, the Diamondbacks took the weekend series and have improved to 27-20 on the season.

Merrill Kelly took the mound as the starter for the D-backs, he went on to pitch five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits, two walks, and an error. When Kelly exited the ballgame, the D-backs were trailing 3-2 entering the sixth inning.

However, the bullpen then came in to lock down a very impressive Pirates offense. Scott McGough and Kevin Ginkel combined for four no-hit innings, allowing just two baserunners in the latter half of the game.
