Bouncing back from a devastating bullpen collapse last night, the Arizona Diamondbacks took the series finale against the Reds with a 5-2 win.
Slade Cecconi, in just his third career start, pitched 5.2 innings while allowing just one earned run on three hits. Cecconi kept the Reds scoreless up until a sacrifice fly with two outs in the sixth inning.
This strong starting pitching performance allowed the Diamondbacks to remain within striking distance, as it was only a matter of time before their offense broke open.
