NEW YORK – Diamondbacks right-hander Taijuan Walker’s first bullpen session in four months went well on Tuesday afternoon. So well, in fact, that he is hoping he can beat the buzzer and make it back before the end of the regular season.
“It’s cutting it close,” Walker said, “but I’m hoping there still might be a chance for one inning.”
Walker underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2018. As he neared a return in May, he suffered a sprained shoulder capsule, an injury that didn’t require surgery but has nonetheless kept him out all season.
