NEW YORK – Steven Souza Jr.’s latest MRI revealed a right pectoral strain, the Diamondbacks right fielder said, and while the club held off on placing him on the disabled list on Saturday, he might not be in the clear until the team doctor can review the images on Monday.
Souza, who missed the first 30 games of the season with the same injury, said this strain isn’t as severe as the one he suffered in March. Still, he said he is frustrated he has been unable to put the issue behind him.
“Any time I’ve had an injury I’ve been able to conquer it and move on and then play the season or whatever part is left,” he said.
