The Diamondbacks acquired Jean Segura and Tyler Wagner from the Brewers this January in exchange for Chase Anderson, Aaron Hill and Isan Diaz. Arizona was criticized by some for giving up too much for a player who has not posted an on-base percentage over .300 in two years.
But two exhibition games into Segura’s Diamondbacks career, it looks as though Dave Stewart has been vindicated.
Segura has gone 5-for-6 in his first two spring training games with a home run– good for a .833/.833/1.333 line. This is slightly better than his .257/.281/.336 line last season.
