D-Backs, MLB teams honor Stoneman Douglas students
The Stoneman Douglas High School hats the Diamondbacks – and every other major league team – will be wearing in Friday’s spring training opener carry special meaning for catcher Alex Avila, who lives about a half-hour from the site of last week’s deadly shooting.
“I think it’s a good thing that we’re doing that, obviously, just to show that they’re not alone in this,” Avila said.
