Following Carson Kelly’s departure last season, Herrera assumed the role of backup catcher behind Gold Glove recipient Gabriel Moreno.
Herrera appeared in 41 games, maintaining a .208 batting average at the plate and successfully throwing out 22% of base runners.
With Herrera’s departure, Tucker Barnhart stands as the sole remaining catcher at camp.
