With a pair of off days sandwiched around their upcoming three-game series in St. Louis against the Cardinals, the Diamondbacks have decided to tweak their rotation and have right-hander Rubby De La Rosa skip his next start.
“He’s got some nagging groin issues, some blister stuff,” manager Chip Hale said. “Nothing that would keep him off. If we had no days off, he would pitch. It’s an opportunity to give him a little bit of a break. He’s obviously pitching very well. We feel like it’s best.”
De La Rosa, who’s won four of his last six starts and given up one or fewer runs in all but one of those games, was scheduled to throw Saturday against the Cardinals.
