Right-hander Rubby De La Rosa’s two outings thus far this spring rank among the more electric of any Diamondbacks pitcher so far in camp. Still, the odds might not be in De La Rosa’s favor when it comes to his chances of making the Opening Day roster.
De La Rosa, pitching some 18 months after undergoing a second Tommy John surgery, has turned in a pair of scoreless innings. On Monday against the Reds, De La Rosa struck out the side, throwing his fastball up to 98 mph while also mixing in a change-up and slider.
