MIAMI – It took just two overmatched batters in the key moments of his first outing in nearly two months for Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray to announce that a sore side won’t stop his progress from becoming one of the most dominant left-handers in baseball.
After cruising through the first three innings in which he faced the minimum nine batters, despite a questionable single that could’ve easily be ruled an error by usually sure-handed backup third baseman Deven Marrero, Ray walked the first two batters in the fourth.
A groundout gave the feisty Marlins second and third with one out.
